Alyssa Pisciotto is a multi media artist based out of both Toronto and Windsor Ontario. She has had work featured in shows located in both cities. Alyssa’s work challenges the idea of “good” taste by playing with the “kitsch” quality of different materials and subject matter. Other prevalent themes throughout her work are memory and nostalgia as well as challenging beauty standards. Alyssa’s practice primarily consists of painting, but also includes: printmaking, bookbinding, paper making and collage. Alyssa graduated from OCAD University in 2016 with a major in drawing and painting and a minor in printmaking.
The purposeful use of kitsch elements, challenge taste standards in the contemporary art world.
